![]() 2 days ago I became one of the lucky few, who managed to register in time for Joel's workshop. Known for his unique approach, both in lighting setups and post processing techniques which give his images that easily recognizable edgy look, he gave a 2 day intensive workshop, revealing all his techniques. The workshop was split into 2, the first meeting being all about different lighting setups, among them the 3 lights setup which is fundamental for getting his look, and the second being about the post processing techniques. While the technical aspect of the workshop wasn't of much interest to me and was mainly aimed towards those with little experience in studio photography, I did find some tricks useful. What impressed me the most was his friendly and very down to earth attitude. Not many internationally known photographers are willing to share their knowledge and experience, and the general atmosphere during the workshop was very fun and laid back. Funny thing though, is that between the lines the emphasis was on "being unique and doing your own thing". Funny when it comes from a guy who teaches others how to do exactly what he does. Nevertheless I truly enjoyed it and will take some tips with me Be sure to visit Joel's website and his blog, lots and lots of stunning images to go through Also, big thanks to Galitz school of photography for making it happen Fresh Start 09/08/2010
With the celebration of Jewish "Rosh-Ha-Shana", I also finalize a very important chapter in my life that I would like to call "Studies at Studio Gavra" I take a look back at the year that passed by. A year that has been extremely intense, with lots of ups and downs. Moments of inspiration followed by days when all I wanted to do is put my camera aside and call it quits All the amazing people that I've met during the studies and came to respect and admire. My fellow class mates which soon became good friends. The amazing staff members which were always ready to support and help With the actual course finished and all the efforts and energy thrown upon the upcoming seniors exhibition, I take a look at the upcoming year and would like to wish you a happy new year, full of joy and happiness, creative thinking and moments of inspiration, and hey, we're all about photography here, right? So, lots of great captures to everyone Happy Rosh-Ha-Shana! P.S. New photos uploaded at various galleries, check them out Fashion Gallery 07/26/2010

Right... So, it's been 2 weeks since I launched this baby. I've listened to feedback given to me by friends and co-workers, changed some things, improved others, but all-in-all this looks to be the final shape of the website. As the time goes by, I intend to add more content to the website, photography tips and tricks, various products and accessories reviews, a DIY section and so forth So, yeah, while at the very beginning I intended it to be a strictly "online portfolio" website, but again, it appeared to me that i have more to offer, so we will see where it goes...
